    “It has been many months in the making: building and decorating, as well as testing dishes to meet my customers palettes said John Gambino, Executive Chef/Owner. We aim to bring back relaxed meals, the way dining used to be. The recipes are ones I grew up with in New York and have served in the Hamptons of Long Island, events at the Shoe, and right here in Pickerington. I’m thrilled to be opening my newest restaurant back here and am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.”

    Genuwine’s features a strong Italian menu along with non-Italian and seafood entrees balancing the offerings. The full-length copper bar features wines, a variety of craft taps and bottled beer, and a nice variety of sip-ables. Flights of your favorites can be arranged- if your preference is beer, wine or bourbon. Whether you want an intimate dinner, date night, ladies night, or family outings, Genuwine’s can accommodate.     MeetOur Owner

    John Gambino grew up in the restaurant business, beginning as a dish washer at age 14. He worked in national chains as well as boutique restaurants, including NY’s exclusive Hamptons. John managed food services and catering facilities across Long Island’s major businesses, universities, and private schools. He successfully opened Fresh Approach delicatessins in New Jersey before leaving New York for Ohio with his family.

    John continued his catering in Ohio, serving families and businesses across the greater Columbus area. He opened his first restaurant in 2001. John and his family were featured on WBNS 10TV’ Father’s Day “Let’s do Brunch” segment in 2003. He later served as gourmet chef for the Schottensteins Arena and University Suite at the Horseshoe serving University guests, media crews, and catering guests. John was pleased to have served the Buckeyes and the Best Damn Band in the Land. Once again, John is bringing Pickerington a taste of New York with Genuwine’s, his newest restaurant.
